LHB Consultants Inc. is a recruiting company for the clinical research industry that places clinical research professionals into permanent positions. Founded in 2001, LHB Consultants Inc. has expanded its services to include the placement of industry professionals into contract positions as LHB Clinical Contracting Inc. This decision was made based on regular requests from our clients and candidates. Both LHB companies work together daily to bring their clients and candidates opportunities that meet their unique needs. Working from an extensive database built over 6 years -- collectively, the LHB group offers seamless resourcing services. 

The LHB team partners with clinical research organizations, pharmaceuticals and biotechs of all sizes, reach and therapeutic focus throughout the United States and parts of Canada. They fill the following types of positions:

Our Team

Laura Bridgman, MPH
President

Laura Bridgman received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Public Health from Appalachian State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Armed with her Masters in Public Health, she worked for Duke Clinical Research Institute and Pharmaresearch in data management. Missing daily interaction with people, she transitioned into a position recruiting for the industry she developed a first-hand knowledge of during her career.  Disheartened by a bottom line-driven mentality at a large recruiting company, she started LHB Consultants 6 years ago. Today, Laura has successfully matched numerous clinical research professionals with top companies. Laura continues to run LHB Consultants while identifying contractors for LHB Clinical Contracting Inc.

 Wendy Helmick, MSW
Senior Account Manager

Wendy Helmick has nearly a decade of pharmaceutical communications experience, marketing leading pharmaceutical products when the industry was just defining itself. As a result, she was poised to help build LHB Consultants, a permanent placement company, when it started 6 years ago. Most importantly, she has a strong drive to help people. Wendy brings a Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina and experience as a life coach and Myers-Brigg personality type interpreter in the HR department of nationally recognized SAS Institute to LHB.  During her 6 years at LHB, she successfully placed numerous clinical research professionals in positions they enjoy. Today she runs LHB Clinical Contracting as an extension of LHB Consultants Inc.

Shannon Allee
Account Manager

Shannon received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina.  She has worked and managed in the Human Resources and Customer Service fields for over 15 years.  After a number of years living and working in Washington, D.C. she decided to return to North Carolina to be closer to friends and family and pursue a career in the recruiting industry.  Building on what she loves, directly working with individuals as well as companies to achieve a common goal, recruiting has been the perfect fit.  Shannon has been a valuable asset to LHB Clinical Contracting Inc. since she started in 2005. 

Peggy O'Neil Ross
Account Executive

Peggy O'Neil Ross spent several years as the co-owner of the largest direct marketing company in the Durham, North Carolina area before joining LHB in 2004. Ready to switch her focus to helping people, she began recruiting. Her relationship building experience and ability to multi-task allow her to manage her candidate searches with the professionalism and personal attention each deserves. Prior to establishing the direct marketing company, Peggy received her Bachelors degree from Ohio State University.

Susan Heins
Account Executive

Susan Heins has over 20 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry. She started her career at the American Diabetes Association where she educated all levels of medical professionals. She continued her role as an educator at Lederle Pharmaceuticals where she developed medical education programs. Susan spent the next 15 plus years of her career working with the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, as a PR Manager and Consultant. She has worked to publicize numerous FDA approvals and clinical research milestones. Susan began recruiting part time in 2006 and looks forward to increasing her commitment in 2007. Her extensive exposure to the pharmaceutical industry and experience working with medical experts has provided a solid base for her as she continues her career as a recruiter for LHB. 

Trish Haak, MSW
Account Executive

Trish brings five years of clinical research experience to her role as an Account Executive at LHB. She has worked in all phases of the research process and in a variety of therapeutic areas.  The combination of her clinical research background and her dedication to assisting individuals through life changes made recruiting a natural fit for her. She enjoys applying her experience to matching clinical research professionals (her colleagues!) with positions that are a solid fit. Trish received her Bachelors degree from North Carolina State University and went on to receive her Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington-Seattle.
